Fall Commencement

Friday, Dec. 20

  • 10:30 a.m. University Commencement Ceremony in Cassell Coliseum
  • 2:30 p.m. Graduate School Commencement Ceremony in Cassell Coliseum

Spring Commencement

The 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremonies will take place on May 10-18. Individual college commencement ceremonies will include the opportunity for undergraduates and master's degree students to walk across the stage.  

All graduate students and families are invited to attend the Graduate School Commencement on May 14. The Graduate School ceremony include speakers, reading of names, and conferring the degrees for Ph. D. candidates.

The schedule will be updated with a break down of additional departmental ceremonies in early October. 

Saturday, May 10

  • 9 a.m. Virginia Tech Carillion School of Medicine  in Roanoke

Wednesday, May 14

  • 3-5 p.m. Graduate School in Cassell Coliseum
  • 6-8 p.m. Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (MPH, MS, and bachelor's of science in public health) in the Moss Arts Center

Thursday, May 15 

  • 8:30-10:30 a.m. College of Architecture, Arts, and Design in Cassell Coliseum
  • Noon-2 p.m. Pamplin College of Business Ceremony One in Lane Stadium
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m. College of Natural Resources and Environment in Burruss Hall

* Ceremonies in Moss Arts Center require a ticket for guests. Contact your college directly for more information.

** College of Engineering ceremonies will not require tickets, but graduates are requested to limit guests to 10 people.
